In this comment, the Meijers Committee contributes to the European Commission’s consultation with representatives of Civil Society on legal migration which took place on 20 April 2021. The Meijers Committee makes several recommendations concerning the Long-Term Residents Directive 2003/109 and the Single Permit Directive 2011/98.
