Then the Meijers Committee is looking for you!<br><strong>Join us for a 6-month internship, 3 days a week, starting in September 2025.<br><\/strong><br><strong>Apply by: August 1st , 2025<br>Interviews: mid-August, 2025<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who are we?<br><\/strong>The Meijers Committee is a unique group of law professors, legal researchers, judges and attorneys working on a voluntary basis to ensure European legislation respects the rule of law and guarantees fundamental rights for<br>everyone. Together, we work to assess EU legislative proposals in criminal, migration and constitutional laws from the perspective of the rule of law and fundamental rights.<br>The Committee and its members are devoted to raising the awareness of lawyers, civil servants and politicians about the importance of the rule of law in European legislation. We provide legal analyses that identify problems in EU legislative proposals while making concrete recommendations to ensure fundamental rights and the rule of law are respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>What will you do?<br><\/strong>The main tasks of an intern at the Meijers Committee include:<br>\u2022 Conducting legal and policy research and writing draft opinions on EU and national legislative proposals, depending on your specific interest and the EU\u2019s political agenda;<br> \u2022 Assisting in the preparation of Committee meetings;<br>\u2022  Participating in the organisation of conferences;<br>\u2022 Keeping track of current events at the Union and national levels;<br>\u2022 Liaising with stakeholders in The Hague and Brussels;<br>\u2022 Assisting the executive secretary and the project officer in their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>What do you bring to the team?<br><\/strong>\u2022 You are a Master\u2019s student in law or you have recently obtained your diploma;<br>\u2022 You have an interest in EU law, especially in issues related to the rule of law, migration, asylum, privacy, non-discrimination, institutional law and fundamental rights;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Excellent research and legal drafting skills;<br>\u2022 An organized and proactive attitude;<br>\u2022 A team player but also comfortable working independently;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do we offer?<br><\/strong>\u2022 A dynamic and collegial working environment;<br>\u2022 The opportunity to actively contribute to the European policy landscape;<br>\u2022 A chance to expand your professional network and work with a wide range of legal experts and policymakers;<br>\u2022 A financial compensation of \u20ac360;<br>\u2022 The Meijers Committee values diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
