Poland.<\/strong> The European Court of Human Rights ruled a violation of Article 6 \u00a7 1 (right of access to a court) of the European Convention on Human Rights in Broda and Bojara v. Poland (applications no. 26691\/18 &amp; 27367\/18) regarding dismissal of vice-presidents of courts by justice minister Ziobro. The Polish <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RULEOFLAWpl\/status\/1409901731429879813?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">justice ministry said<\/a> that it &#8220;regrets that the court took a politically motivated decision against Poland&#8221; and prime minister Morawiecki said that Poland will &#8220;implement judicial system reform in line with our priorities&#8221; (read more here on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euractiv.com\/section\/politics\/short_news\/morawiecki-poland-will-reform-judiciary-on-own-timescale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Euractiv<\/a>, 30 June 2021). The Polish Constitutional Court has postponed for the third time its review of whether Poland must comply with a ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) to suspend regulations on judicial reforms implemented by the ruling Law and Justice Party (PiS) which the CJEU found to be contrary to EU law. The European Commission has also condemned the Hungarian law, contesting its legality under EU law in this <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alemannoEU\/status\/1409053585837596673?s=20\">letter<\/a> &#8211; the Hungarian has until 30 June to respons, otherwise the EU will take action. Polands&#8217; <span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">MP from Law and Justice just <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BartStaszewski\/status\/1408497892977958915?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told journalist<\/a> that the Chancellery of Prime Minister is working on a bill that will ressemble the anti-LGBT legislation from Hungary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What has happened to the rule of law situation in Hungary since the last Article 7 hearings?<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/helsinki.hu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hungarian Helsinki Committee<\/a> has published an <a href=\"https:\/\/helsinki.hu\/en\/qualitative-changes-in-hungarys-illiberal-regime-since-the-last-article-7-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overview<\/a> over the most significant qualitative changes in Hungary&#8217;s illiberal regime since 2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span id=\"page3R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\">C<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">650\/18<\/span><\/span><\/strong>: the CJEU <span id=\"page3R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\">dismisses Hungary\u2019s action against the Parliament resolution triggering <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">the proc<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">edure for determining the existence of a clear risk of a serious breach, by a <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Member State, of the values on which the European Union is founded. Babi\u0161 responded by calling the EPPO a \u201cnew whip\u201d that is being used against him.
