CM1812 Registration of criminal records of Union citizens in ECRIS-TCN
The Meijers Committee took notice of the note of the Council where the Presidency presented text for a solution on the issue of ´dual nationals´ and ´fingerprints.´ With regard to the suggested compromise proposal, the Meijers Committee is still not convinced that the ´discrimination´ of dual citizenship is ´solved.´
The Meijers Committee would like to comment on the Proposal for a regulation on strengthening the security of identity cards of Union citizens and of residence documents issued to Union citizens and their family members exercising their right of free movement (COM(2018)212 final).

The Meijers Committee wishes to respond herein to the legislative proposals made by the European Commission on cross-border access to electronic evidence (COM (2018) 225 final). This note aims to raise a number of questions and concerns that follow from the proposals, and provides several recommendations on how to improve them.

Voor de bijeenkomst staat het punt Home Affairs European Values (Art 2 & 3 TEU) - Significance for a citizen-focused, crisis resistant, future oriented Security Union geagendeerd. Democratie, rechtsstaat en respect voor mensenrechten gelden als kernwaarden van de Europese Unie.
